To ensure your pitcher has a long life, please note:

It is not dishwasher- or microwave-safe. It should never be heated or used for cooking.

To clean, use warm or hot soapy water to wash the enamel surface; rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly with a soft, absorbent cloth. Avoid using steel wool, scouring pads, oven cleaner, or abrasive cleaners on the pitcher at all costs, as this will damage the enamel surface.

To remove grime, fill the pitcher with hot soapy water for 1 hour. Then, follow the steps above to clean as usual.

Never pour hot water into a cold pitcher, as the rapid temperature change could damage the enamel.

To treat discoloration of the enamel, apply a combination of household vinegar and warm water, using 1 teaspoon of vinegar for every 1 pint of water. Soak for 1 to 2 hours, then clean as usual (see above).
